Major Labels: Who owns Who

101420-164323-thumbnail.jpgYou think you've found a small label and you love the music they sell. But is it really such a 'small' label? Are they actually attached to a much larger entity that's part of a broader 'payola' scheme?

Hey what you have as the major labels and subsids are really old. The image list the Big 6 which MCA was always part of Warner internationally, then BMG, until they bought PolyGram and became Universal. Just add Sony BMG as one company. There you have it- The Big WEAK Four on their last leg of life. Soon add EMI and Warner to become the big three. The future of the industry will be with less dependence of the majors. The majors are concerned with market share and profit percentage. Aimee Mann is our hero! Go Superego, go!
