Podcasting Marches On
It seems that mainstream radio is starting to feel the heat. Wired magazine reports that several mainstream US radio stations
have now switched their playlists to an 'iPod Style' format where a
listener can now hear 1000's of differents songs during a 1 week period
rather than the normal 25. Interesting concept but why not put some
effort into making your play lists interesting rather than just
randomising 1000 tracks of shit?
And in another development, Garageband.com announced a new online service which will allow users to mix their own podcasts using the vast amount of free music available from unsigned artists on it's network. NYUB.net is an official Garageband.com radio partner.
And finally, Steve Jobs announced that iTunes 4.9 will offer native RSS capabilities. This will mean that millions of iTunes users will now be able to subscribe to the podcast of their choice at the click of a button. This will be the tipping point. Oh yes.
